Invertebrate Research–Butterfly

molly-invertebrate1

A butterfly is an insect that has no vertebrae. They have large colorful wings. Butterflies live all over the world except in Antarctica or the desert. Snakes and monkeys and toads can eat butterflies. Butterflies don’t eat. They drink nectar from flowers.

Life Cycle of an Emperor Penguin

img_1108

I read about the emperor penguin.  An important vocabulary word in my book is species.  It means a group of animals that are the same.  I discovered penguins are actually birds.  A penguin is warm-blooded.  The emperor penguin’s habitat is in the icy cold deep water.

Summer Packing

Summer packing for fall.

Packing away the trip to Washington, D.C.,

Packing up the hotel.

Packing up summer camp,

And moving on to fall.

Packing up for the breezy leaves.

Packing up the hot, breezing wind.

Packing up the baseball,

And moving on to football.

Packing up for playing in the leaves and raking.

Packing up for making cookies

And dressing up for fall.

Packing up going to the beach and hot weather.

Good luck, summer!

I’ll see you next year!
